Selecting a Contractor

There are hundreds of air conditioning contractors in the Houston area. Since 95% of all homes have central air conditioning, there is a great demand for service. Selecting a good one takes some homework on your part. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Examine everything you hear from an air conditioning company. Call his competitors. Keep separate notes. It can get confusing. Most quality contractors try to help you by telling you the truth all the time.
  • All state-licensed contractors are required to use their license numbers on all advertising. Check them out with the city to make sure they are on file. Call the BBB and check if there are any complaints on file.
  • Find out how long they have operated and what their background is, including educational, customer references, and business references.
  • If you are happy with your present contractor, even if it is us, get a second opinion and bid price on major renovations. A good contractor will understand that a major investment requires scrutiny from all angles.
