Beware the $29.95 Service Call
The $29.95 service call, is it just tough competition or is it something else?
There are several companies in Houston using the telephone to solicit business. This is not a problem as we all use the phone to do a lot of communication. Some companies blindly call every number in an area offering their services at what seems to be a great deal. A low cost service call to check out your unit, how can you go wrong?
No one can offer a $29.95 service call and make a living at it! In order to make these cheap service calls worth it, one must find other problems and then overcharge to make up the difference. We would rather deal straight up and charge a price we can live with. Then if nothing is wrong nothing is repaired. We have all been misled by some purchase in our lifetime. Don't be fooled by this gimmick. We have yet to talk to anyone who has used a discount like this that didn't pay more in the end. And maybe they didn't even get competent or necessary repairs and service.
When they call you on the phone, ask for a list of references and check them out carefully. What is their warranty? How long have they been in business? Call the BBB. Ask the company for 4 customers they have serviced with this deal in the last 30 days and call them. The more questions you ask, the better the decision you will make.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
